National Administrator of the Union Registry for Emission Allowances

Based on contract with the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic (MoE), ICZ Slovakia a. s. was designated as the National Administrator in 2013. The company is responsible for managing a set of user accounts falling under the jurisdiction of the Slovak Republic in the Union Registry.

Aim / purpose of the solution, who it is good for

The National Administrator opens and manages in the Union Registry:

  • a stationary installation holding account for each installation with permission from a district office,
  • an aircraft operator holding account upon instruction from the MoE,
  • a maritime operator holding account upon instruction from the MoE,
  • a person holding account and a trading account upon request of natural or legal person,
  • national accounts.

Features, characteristics, and functionality of the solution

Within the Union Registry ICZ Slovakia a. s. ensures accurate record-keeping regarding the issuance, registration, allocation, holding, transfer and cancellation of emission allowances. In performing its activities, it proceeds in accordance with specific legal regulations.

The registry team is ready to support users in carrying out tasks within the Union Registry and contribute to climate change mitigation in fulfilling the National Administrator responsibilities.
