2 June 2017
On 1 and 2 June 2017, the 9th annual Security and Protection of Information (SPI) international science conference took place in Brno, organized by the University of Defence in Brno under the auspices of the Security Director of the MoD, Ing. Petr Charvát – the director of the security department.
The conference is a side event to the IDET International Trade Fair of Defence and Security Technologies, and S.ICZ was its General Partner this year. The principal theme of the conference was various aspects of cyber security and defence – from legal analysis through network security and incident management to forensic analysis. Different types of cyber attacks were analysed, for example the ever-popular ransomware. The possible use of biometrics, and the quality of authentication mechanisms for mobile devices were also discussed. Students at Masaryk University presented a tool that simulates a cyber security incident – respectively an attack – in the form of a game, and defence training against various types of attacks. S.ICZ employees presented their views of the advantages and potential drawbacks of the risk assessment process at the conference.
