A long-term partnership between ICZ Group and the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Economics in Prague was signed this year based on an initiative coming from employees at the PRIVATE Section. Our aim is to use the next three years to actively collaborate with the Department of Logistics, under the wing of which the Young Logisticians Club carries out its activities. In addition to that, we want to actively participate in lectures and offer students interest-based and educational activities, placements and academic thesis topics.
We began cooperation in the winter semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, in which Pavel Cizner, Logistics Systems Consultant, and Marek Drahuský, Head of the Department of Logistics Applications, prepared a talk on the subject of Logistics Systems for students of follow-up Master’s studies with secondary specialisation in Logistics – International Transportation and Forwarding.
We prepared an excursion to Budějovický Budvar brewery for students in November, when they were able to learn about the very latest technologies, controlled by our ICZ OSIRIS® system, and where they were able to combine academic theory with real practice. We entered the classroom again at the end of the semester, before the examination period, this time on the subject of Supply Chain Management. Again under the baton of Pavel Cizner.
Cooperation with the academic environment, interaction with students and their feedback are all motivating and binding to ICZ at the same time. Students particularly value the approach and unique method of presentation, when we are able to bring them closer to the real industrial world, which many of them know only from model examples. In addition to practical information, the students become aware of the ICZ Group, thanks to which we look forward to the first agreed student placements and seminar papers next year.
